The doctor's looked at the CT scan and discovered a spot that worried them. So, on Tuesday morning, the stopped the blood thinners. They put him on the schedule to get a filter put in his leg vein. They took him down for the procedure around 12 noon and he was back within a half hour.
After all this, the doctors decided that Ryan needed to rest. They decided that they were going to keep him heavily sedated all night and let him sleep.
At one point around 10 p.m. I left the room and came back about 10 minutes later. Though restrained, Ryan was able to pull his own breathing tube out. The nurses and doctors were right there to re-insert the tube. They said that this is very common in patients. I told them that it is very common of Ryan. He is a fighter and a bit of a Houdini. It didn't surprise me that the moment I left the room he would be up to something sneaky.
