They cancelled the surgery on Ryan's facial injuries. They feel it is a surgery that can wait since it is not affecting him negatively (vision, breathing, bite position, etc.).
Ryan is still on a respirator. Hopefully tomorrow they can start breathing trials again. This is where they turn down the respirator to see if his lungs will take over. He passed these tests the first time, but due to the complications on Monday, he had to be put back on the respirator.
On a positive note, Ryan is a lot more coherent when they take the sedation off in the mornings so that neurosurgery can perform their tests. This morning he gave a full extension "thumbs up." He opened his eyes on his own without a nurse or doctor pulling his lids up. And, he and can track a person with his eyes. His left hand and foot responded very well to pain tests today. The doctor got a full jerk out of them when he pressed on them really hard.
