Update #6

Ryan is getting better each day. :)

Today they removed the respirator. It's a painful process but he made it through okay. He is sleeping peacefully right now. He is not on any sedatives or pain medications right now.

They showed me the results to his CT scan. His orbital bone (cheekbone) is broken in a couple spots. His mandible (chin bone) has some hairline fractures as well. They told me that they may not have to operate on either if there is no cosmetic or physical drawback. I will know more about that on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The neurologist told me that his brain nerves suffered damage from the impact. There is also some bruising around the nerves that control his left side. They see no need to operate on his brain. Only time and physical therapy are required for recovery.
