Days 105 - 111

This week, Ryan and I moved into the QLI simulation apartment. It's a cute, two-bedroom apartment that has plenty of accessibility for Ryan in his wheelchair. The therapists are going to be coming over for a while to make sure that Ryan is settling in okay and can navigate the apartment independently.

This Friday, Ryan had a meeting with representatives from Bellevue University. It's primarily an online university, but they do have a campus and offer classes in person as well. They work really well with the military and accept his military training as college credit. Ryan's speech therapist helped him print out his military transcript for the meeting with the representatives. After the university reviews his transcripts, they will determine how many of his credits will transfer. At this point, Ryan's therapist wants him to take one class to see how it goes.

After his meeting with the university representatives, Ryan and I attended the Stratcom Birthday Ball. It was held in a museum downtown. The guest speaker was Tommy Lasorda. Ryan, and other "wounded warriors," were honored before the event and got to meet Mr. Lasorda.

Here are some pictures from the event. (The guy with the white hair that Ryan is talking to is Mr. Lasorda.)  :)
