Day 33

This morning, Ryan worked out on the hand bike in the PT gym for 30 minutes. After that "warm up" he played a card game with one of the therapists using his left hand.

In speech therapy, Ryan practiced giving his brief on military rank/protocol to his therapist. She gave him some constructive feedback for him to work on.

In PT, Ryan's therapist asked him what he wanted to work on. Ryan requested the leg press. He used that machine with both legs together and individually.

This afternoon, we has a staff meeting to discuss Ryan's progress. The therapists are very happy with Ryan's level of motivation and attitude. They think that he is progressing very well. But, as of right now, there is no expected discharge date. It's hard to tell how long Ryan is going to need to be here based on his time here so far.

The occupational therapist wants to restrict Ryan's right arm more to help bring that left arm back into action quicker. And, the speech therapist is going to work with Ryan more on his voice as well as activities that will help him get back to work.

Tonight, Ryan and I ate dinner out at a really cute sushi restaurant. (It doesn't really compare to Yama, but it was still good.) ;) We followed up dinner with blizzards from Dairy Queen. Ryan had a strawberry cheesecake blizzard. It was bliss.
