Transition and Travel

I know it's been a while since I've posted an update. Thanks for being patient. :)

Ryan was successfully discharged from McGuire on June 26. His new wheelchair came in that morning (just in time). The physical therapist help set it all up for him.

It was really hard to say goodbye to all the friends we'd made at McGuire. We will definitely be back to visit everyone when his rehab in Omaha is complete. But, we were excited to head home and get started on our journey.

Four days at our house was barely enough time to get everything done before our trip. But, we managed to get it all done somehow. Ryan got to spend time with his friends. I know he really enjoyed that.

Our trip to Atlanta and Miami went well. No problems with the many plane rides and hotel stays. It was refreshing to be with family and friends. And, it was a well deserved break from therapy for Ryan.

Today, we arrived in Omaha. We had no problems getting our rental car. We got a little lost trying to find the hotel, but Ryan's iPhone saved the day. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel to find a gift basket in our room from QLI (Ryan's new rehab facility). I'm already getting warm fuzzy feelings about this new place. The new address for the facility is located under the contact us section. :)
