Day 9

This morning, Ryan met with his speech therapist. He remembered some items he had forgotten to include in his brief, so she gave him more time to complete it.

Following speech, Ryan had PT and lunch.

After lunch, Ryan had some cognitive therapy on the computer. The therapist set him up with some activities on the computer. Ryan had to read a story and then answer questions about the story he just read.

Ryan had an appointment with a staff psychologist. He will have weekly sessions with the staff psychologist to discuss anything that comes up. These sessions can be "venting" sessions for Ryan for any frustrations that he may have. Also, the psychologist will use these sessions to assess Ryan's mood for any dramatic changes. But, the great thing about Ryan is that he always seems to maintain a positive attitude despite his frustration.

Ryan had a medical management session this afternoon. The nursing staff sits down with him and discusses options on how he can manage his own medications. They gave Ryan a med cassette where he can take his own pills every day.

Ryan hung out with a therapist after his medical management session. The therapist had Ryan put the names and work phone numbers of his therapists, nurses, house coordinator, and doctors in his iPhone.
