Update #99

In PT, Ryan did some exercises on the mat using an exercise ball. Ryan also did some walking with the quad cane. The therapist had me walk with Ryan for a little bit. She wants to make sure I know how to support Ryan while he is walking so that I can help him practice more on our own outside of therapy. He is doing really well. I really didn't have to do too much to stabilize him.

In OT, Ryan did some weight bearing exercises using his left arm while reclining on the mat. The therapist also had him pick up some plastic balls on the left side of his body and deposit them into a bucket on the right side of his body. She also had Ryan grab a large rubber ball and play catch with her using both his right and left hand at the same time.

In speech, Ryan had to go on a scavenger hunt around the hospital. He did a great job finding the items on the list using a map and directional signs.

In KT, the therapist worked with Ryan on the weight machines. Ryan's muscle tone and strength is really improving. After the ICU, Ryan's muscles had atrophied a bit. But, through his therapy sessions, he has gotten back a lot of his muscle tone and strength.

In RT, Ryan played a game of TriBond with the therapist. He really likes playing games that make his mind work to figure something out. :)
