In OT, the therapist worked with Ryan using the e-stim. She also had him do some exercises grasping, releasing and stacking cones with his left hand. He is getting much better at controlling his fingers on his left side. Before, when Ryan would try to do anything with his left arm and hand, his hand would clench into a fist. Now, Ryan can move his arm and open his fingers slightly at the same time. I can tell that the e-stim machine is really working.
In speech, the therapist worked with Ryan using some picture cards. Each card was very slightly different in a sequence of 8 images. Ryan had to really pay attention to the details of the pictures and figure out the correct order of the cards.
In RT, Ryan played a weird numbered card game with the therapist.
In KT, the therapist had Ryan walk on the treadmill for a little bit. It was pretty difficult for Ryan and he needed help holding himself up. The benefit of walking on the treadmill is that it forces Ryan to keep up with the speed of the belt. Using the treadmill will help Ryan find his rhythm when walking.
