Update #79

In PT, Ryan walked a bit with no cane or walker. He did pretty good. The therapist still had to assist him a lot. But, he didn't need any devices to help him (no knee brace, no weight around his ankle, no cane). He is placing his steps a lot better and standing upright better, too.

The therapist also worked with Ryan on standing at the parallel bars. He seems to be finding his balance easier. Since Ryan is having a hard time feeling what his left leg is doing, he tends to put a lot of weight on his right leg. So, in order to help him with that, the therapist used a block that he had to place his right foot on. That would force him to put his weight on his left side.

In OT, they used the e-stim machine on Ryan's left arm. After that was done, they had Ryan do some coordination exercises with Ryan's right arm and hand.

A group of guys from Ryan's command came to visit Ryan today. I can't wait until we are back home and he can see all his friends whenever he wants.

In speech and RT, Ryan reviewed his memory exercises from yesterday then played a game of "Apples to Apples."

In KT, Ryan did more pool exercises. He actually took a few steps in the water without any assistance at all. I can't wait until he does that outside of the pool. :)
