I think taking those first steps yesterday triggered something in Ryan's brain. He was talking a lot more today. He can answer questions with simple answers. I asked him "how are you doing" and he said "okay." He even told the nurse "not right now" when she asked if he needed to go to the bathroom. At one point, I told him I loved him and he said "love you too." I'm ecstatic!
Ryan had some visitors today. He was actively listening to the conversation and even saying "no" every now and then. He even gave the "shush" sign (one finger over lips) to me and a couple girl friends of mine when he had enough of our incessant girl talk and giggling. It's nice to know that some things never change. ;)
