Ryan was opening his eyes a lot in the morning. He was doing well on his neurological tests (hand squeezing, holding up a specific number of fingers, moving his right foot, etc.).
Occupational therapy came in and worked with him for a bit. Then, physical therapy came in and was working with him. He still has a bad case of pneumonia and is having a hard time keeping his airway clear on his own. He requires a lot of suction and respiratory therapy. He also keeps spiking a fever due to his illness. I think with everything going on with his health, the physical activity was just too much for him. By the end of the day, it was almost a full time job keeping his airway clear. There was mention of putting the breathing tube back in, but I am doing my best to keep that from happening. I feel like that is a step backwards.
