TASP to Host Fourth Annual Summer Adventure Week for Disabled U.S. Veterans
June 5
th-June 10th, 2010

Telluride, Colorado – Saturday, June 5th the Telluride Adaptive Sports Program (TASP) will welcome fifteen recently wounded disabled veterans and their family members for its 4th annual Summer Veterans Adventure Week! TASP is pleased to offer free travel, lodging, and recreational and social activities to U.S. service members and a guest who have been disabled as a result of their military service.

“I am a paraplegic and have attended many adaptive sports clinics in the last several years. The Telluride Adventure Week for veterans was by far the best that I have ever attended. I’ve never met such outgoing and helpful people as I met in Telluride. They made me feel very welcome as if I had known them for many years.”

-- Guenter Herold, TASP Adventure Week Participant

The Summer Veterans Adventure Week offers a variety of activities from whitewater rafting, hiking, fishing, jeeping, ATVing, mountain biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, and more in the beautiful San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. TASP will provide all adaptive equipment and a staff of trained volunteers to help create a fun, action-packed week for the outstanding service members visiting Telluride.

Currently, the program is funded solely by individuals and foundations. Because the program is free, it provides warriors—and their significant others—an opportunity to have a therapeutic experience using sports and recreation they might not otherwise be able to afford.

About Telluride Adaptive Sports Program (TASP): The Telluride Adaptive Sports Program is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of people with disabilities by providing positive therapeutic recreational opportunities that develop life skills, encourage personal growth, and promote independence.
