Days 133 - 139

This week, Ryan went to an online classroom orientation at Bellevue University. The purpose of the class was to familiarize Ryan with the online learning system. Next week he will start his class. He is taking Composition for his first class. This class will be really helpful for him since all of his classes online will involve a lot of writing.

This Friday, a wonderful group of guys connected to the Care Coalition wanted Ryan and another QLI resident and veteran, Elliot, to help set off some fireworks. The fireworks were for the opening of the holiday season at a shopping mall in Iowa. We all jumped in a QLI van and drove to Iowa.

It turns out there was a reporter that wanted to interview Ryan and Elliot about setting off the fireworks. But, at the last minute, Elliot opted out and I was pulled in for the interview. Click here to view a video of the interview.

It was about 22 degrees out with a windchill of 17 degrees while we were setting off the fireworks. I don't think we were ready for the cold yet. Our toes were so numb! Ryan and Elliot both got to set off some fireworks. It was pretty intense seeing it so close up. I'm so happy we got to be a part of that.

Here are some pictures from the night.
