This week, Ryan's physical therapist is trying to incorporate more walking into his daily activities. He is going to try to get Ryan walking to and from his different therapy sessions. The difficulty with that is making sure different staff members are trained to walk with Ryan. Since Ryan still needs assistance walking, the therapist wants to make sure the other therapists are assisting Ryan correctly.
This week, Ryan practiced setting up the tent and getting in and out of it for our camping trip this weekend.
The camping trip was really fun. We camped at a local park about 30 minutes away from QLI. It had restrooms (yea!), grills, fire pits, and picnic tables. Ryan and I went camping with his recreational therapist, Ed and his wife, Jen.
Ryan grilled hot dogs for dinner and we had s'mores for desert. Ed and Jen provided hot cocoa. For breakfast, Ed and Jen made eggs and sausage. Ed also introduced Ryan and I to beans on toast. (Ed is from England.) In England, baked beans on toast is a traditional breakfast food staple.
Here are some pictures from the trip. :)
