Day 46

Today, Ryan had PT in the house. The therapist had Ryan clean the mirror in his bathroom while standing. The therapist also had Ryan practice transferring from the floor to the couch. She also worked with him on other standing exercises.

In speech therapy, the therapist gave Ryan a list of vocal exercises to work on in his own time.

This afternoon, Ryan went fishing with his occupational therapist. Ryan did a great job baiting his hook and casting. Here are some pictures from the trip. (Check out some of the seriously huge houses around this pond.)

WARNING: Gross picture of a spider in this web album. Beware if you are arachnophobic (like me). haha!

Story behind creepy spider picture: I was walking around the pond taking pictures of the area. And, I saw this huge (around 2 or 3-inch long) spider in what looked like a battle with a flying black bug. They were doing battle right in my path, so I wasn't happy. But, as I approached (very nervously), I saw that the spider wasn't moving. And, the flying bug stopped pestering the dead spider and just flew in a circular patter over it. I think it was scared that I was going to take it's precious spider carcass away from it. No way. It's all yours, little flying black bug. Enjoy. So, I just took a picture of the seriously gross creature and skittered away cautiously. Because, maybe the spider was just faking.
