Ryan had an EARLY morning appointment with an oral surgeon to evaluate Ryan's mysterious jaw pain. The doctor recommended a CT scan of Ryan's jaw area along with an ibuprofen regimen to relieve any possible inflammation. He doubted that the CT scan would reveal any fractures or issues. He feels with frequent stretching of the jaw muscles and the ibuprofen, the pain will go away.
In constraint induced therapy, Ryan had to move rings up and over an arch using his left arm. The therapist worked with Ryan on gripping the rings with his fingers versus shoving them with his hand.
In speech therapy, Ryan had to give a brief history of himself to a new staff member. Following those vocal exercises, he played a computer game that worked on his cognitive skills.
For lunch, Ryan had to pick a different therapist to go eat lunch with. He picked his speech therapist. They went to Olive Garden. (I'm so jealous of their breadstick experience. haha.)
In PT, Ryan walked around the gym. The therapist also worked with Ryan on his weight shifting. He had Ryan pick on leg up at a time and set it on a box while standing upright.
In life skills, the therapist had Ryan type up an email to his other therapists describing ways that they can help him achieve his therapy goals throughout the day. (Encourage him to use his left arm, more standing activities, etc.)
