In PT, the therapist used an e-stim machine on Ryan's left leg. The machine works with his knee and his foot. When the knee extends the e-stim sends a pulse to the foot pulling up the toe so that it doesn't drag. Lately, Ryan has been dragging his left foot a bit on some steps. Ryan walked 58 steps over 7 minutes using that machine. Again, Ryan was able to use the parallel bars to support himself and needed minimal assistance. (The machine logged the steps and the time, not me. I'm not that OCD. haha!)
In OT, the therapist had Ryan do some exercises with his left arm. She had him transfer some plastic balls into a bucket. She also had Ryan grab some round pegs and put them in some holes.
In speech, the therapist worked with Ryan on some reading comprehension and memory exercises.
After his morning therapies, Ryan and I left to go down to Virginia Beach. We were so excited to stay in our own bed and see our dog. It was a well needed mental break.
