Update #74

Ryan had OT this morning. They worked with his left arm using cone transferring exercises.

Originally Ryan and I had two day passes for the weekend (meaning we could go out during the day on Saturday and Sunday). But, this was only because his blood levels weren’t good enough yet. (The doctors are in the process of switching Ryan from an injection of blood thinning medication to a pill. Until his blood levels were good, the would have to continue giving him the shot. They said I could give it to him while we are out, but I have my limits. Needles hit that limit.)

After therapy the doctor told me that his blood levels were good enough to do an overnight pass if we felt like it. Ryan wanted to, so we had the doctor change our two passes to one overnight pass.

In PT, Ryan did more walking with the quad cane. He was really working up a good rhythm towards the end. When I told the therapist about our overnight pass and how I would be using my car to transport Ryan, he decided to see us off to make sure I felt secure.

The transfer went fine and Ryan and I jetted away from the building. Ryan wanted a burger, so we went to a 5 Guys Burger place. (YUMM!) He really enjoyed his burger and fries.

We went to Target and shopped around a bit. We also went to a Five Below (a store where everything is $5 and under). We found some fun stuff there, too.

Ryan spotted a Coldstone ice cream store and I knew we weren’t getting out of there without buying a quart of chocolate peanut butter ice cream.

After all that, we went back to the hotel to hang out.
