An occupational therapist came to work with Ryan this morning. They worked with him on dressing himself. With little help, he put his own shorts and socks on. I was really impressed with how he did. (Socks are a hard thing to put on with only one functional hand.)
KT worked with the strength in Ryan's arms and legs. They had him use a weighted exercise ball. He had to hold it between his ankles and lift his legs. He also had him put it between his knees and lift his hips off the mat.
It was a beautiful day, so I took Ryan on a walk outside. We found a shady spot and sat and talked for about an hour.
Ryan had a couple visitors today. He was cracking jokes and making all of us laugh. I love getting his point of view on everything. He has such a unique view from where he is sitting. And, he has a great sense of humor about his current situation. He really is an inspiration.
