The therapist then had him reach for an object with his right hand and hand it to her on his left side. These types of exercises will help Ryan with his coordination.
A friend came to visit Ryan today. I could tell he enjoyed the company. It was a decent day, so we walked outside for about an hour.
Ryan was getting pretty restless and seemed really uncomfortable, so we moved him back to bed. After a few different positions, he finally found his comfort zone and fell asleep. After the productive week he had, I think he earned it! :)

Just want you to know I've been praying for you guys! It's good to read about Ryan's progress and all the things he has to go through. It's nice to be informed. Thank you for sharing! May God continue to bless Ryan's recovery and to renew your strength during these trying times!
Dude... Sounds like he was looking forward to the rest. Make sure you work in some time for your rest too! Semper Fi, Dave and Amy
Jenn -
Sitting in an airport in Miami reading about how well Ryan is doing...this site is really something else...tell Ryan I'll see about smuggling a Mohito back on the plane for him...
Take care - you guys are definitely in the thoughts of everyone who is here with me!

Jenn, I am M.J.'s mom; she's one of Ryan's co-workers. We were made aware of your blog through J.R. Reddig, a retired Navy captain who has spread the word about Ryan. My husband, M.J.'s dad, is also retired Navy, and sent M.J. the blog address, too. Not long after Ryan's accident we had heard about it from our daughter, who, along with all his co-workers, is praying for him and sending positive thoughts his way. You and Ryan should know there are many people all around the world who care what happens to him. Your blog is a great way to keep everyone posted on his remarkable progress; thank you! I know you are making a huge difference in his recovery. Good luck! Cathy H.
Just wanted to tell you what a wonderful time I had with you two while visiting! It was really nice to hang out and spend some time together :)
Ryan's personality is definitely shining through...from puckering his lips to get kisses from Jenn when he wants (which is OFTEN!) to answering yes or no questions by showing a "1" or "2"....including the time I asked him if he liked hearing the birds chirping while we were outside and he held up his fingers in the shape of a gun. He still has his undeniable ability to make us all laugh! :)
I can't believe the progress over the past few weeks...you both are blowing us away with your strength!
See you soon, and hopefully next visit will be with Josh. :)
Love you both!
Kirsten
